How I Cured My Acne

Unless you’re one of the lucky few (the kids who didn’t need braces and never had frizzy hair), you’ve probably dealt with some kind of acne. For me, that started when I was around 13 years old when I changed elementary schools while simultaneously having braces as well as frizzy hair (really the best possible timing).

Ever since then I was on a mission to optimize my skincare routine. That meant preventing new breakouts, healing the existing ones, and reducing the appearance of acne scars. For me, breakouts came less frequently as I aged but scars have always been an issue.

The first two products have been in my regimine for a matter of years now. They’ve been with me ever since the Camp Rock and Twilight days and probably won’t leave my side any time soon (boys, take notes). Without further ado here they are:

1) Aveeno® Positively Radiant® Daily Moisturizer Broad Spectrum Spf 15

I’ve used this moisturizer for years and I love it because of its perfect balance of moisture and SPF. Say goodbye to dryness and hello to sun protection (with no weird white cast on your face in pictures).

2)  CLINIQUE Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel

This product is extremely effective in clearing up breakouts and fading scars. It might be a little harsh if you have sensitive skin, but if you don’t then it works like a charm. It’s only flaw is that it smells uncannily similar to Vladimir Vodka but as long as you keep it away from your eyes you should have no complaints and fantastic results.

3)  ActivHealth Rejuve Probiotics for Women

This is the product that made the most drastic difference in my skincare routine. It kept my skin from breaking out even before and during my period. I felt a little bloated when I first began taking the probiotics (which I found out is a normal side-effect of prebiotics), but besides that I have only good things to say.

I highly recommend using these three products together to help with acne-prone combination skin. The products balance your pH, reduce redness, and prevent acne from ever even surfacing.

I hope these tips are helpful! Comment below if you try any of these products and let me know how they work for you. Good luck :)
